Nyoda Alumnae Association Webpage Team Needs Your Help
Nyoda Alumnae Association

Would you like to dig into a particular topic about our shared history or present as an alumna? Do you have artistic or design ability that we could lean on when we’re creating the next stories to share? We would love help from anyone who is interested in writing or designing parts of the webpage. Please contact Cate Gropper.

Editor-in-Chief, Cate Gropper attended camp from 2002-2014 as a Camper, Tennis counselor, Juniors counselor and Head Counselor. She loved bung overnights without tents and to this day remains extremely torn between Capture the Flag and Prisoner Dodgeball as her favorite Team Game.
“What We Did” Editor, Anna Kupin, Tiamalia ’93, spent a total of 14 summers on the hill (plus one on the back porch) and worked in Riding, with the Juniors and as Head Counselor. She drove her bung mates and co-counselors crazy with her alarm clock (a necessary evil for buglers), which would often go off long before Reveille, and with her insistence on singing harmony on every.single.song.
“What We Can Do” Editor, Jess Wajbel (now Roer) attended camp from 1994-1999 as a camper, Juniors counselor, and Dramatics counselor. She loved then and still loves now the smell and serenity of a campfire. She sings camp songs with her two girls daily, especially breakfast grace (as our evening prayer) and lately variations of lyrics that congratulate potty training.
“What We Do” Editor, Carrie Jenkins, was a camper from 1988-1996, and a counselor from 1997-2003. She worked on the swimming dock and was the Head Counselor. Years later, she got to return to Nyoda as the camp cook and will take the recipe for crumb cake to her grave.
